Monte-Carlo Television Festival: a must-see event
The Monte-Carlo Television Festival takes place every year in June in the enchanting setting of the Grimaldi Forum, in the Larvotto district.
For five days, the entire audiovisual world ecosystem gathers for the major television event where industry professionals attend conferences on trends and come to discover the world preview of tomorrow's audiovisual programmes.
Under the honorary presidency of Prince Albert II of Monaco, this festival, created in 1961 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, aims to promote entertainment programmes, documentaries and series and rewards the best international audiovisual productions with the prestigious Golden Nymphs award.
Among an international selection of new programmes presented to the press and professionals, the Golden Nymphs competition is divided into 3 categories:
In addition to these prestigious prizes, there are special prizes such as the Prize of the Monaco Red Cross.
In each category, around ten audiovisual works are included in the official selection.
Each year, the jury is made up of award-winning actors, producers, scriptwriters and distributors.
Every year, many prestigious guests attend the Monte-Carlo International Television Festival.
Among them are the actors and actresses of numerous international series, such as The Young and the Restless, The Good Doctor, Jane Seymour or French television programmes such as Scènes de Ménage, Pékin Express or Un Si Grand Soleil.
On the red carpet, the stars are already on parade on the most anticipated night of the festival, the opening ceremony.
At the 61st edition, the public and the press were able to meet Matthew Fox, the main actor of the series Lost, Joanne Frogatt from the series Dowton Abbey and David Hasselhoff from Baywatch. Among the French personalities, the list is long: Adriana Karembeu, Grégory Fitoussi, Lola Marois, Jean Reno and Stéphane Plaza.
Synonymous with glamour and a festive atmosphere, the Monte-Carlo International Television Festival is punctuated by magical evenings, notably the opening night and the gala evening.
The opening night allows a privileged few to participate in the ascent of the steps, to attend an ultra VIP cocktail party alongside the celebrities, the opening ceremony, a preview screening, followed by an after party in a secret location.
To close the festival, the prestigious guests will have the honour of attending the Golden Nymphs award ceremony and to experience an extraordinary moment, the gala dinner which takes place in the famous Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo.
During the entire period of the Monaco TV Festival, in addition to the screenings that take place in the hushed halls of the Grimaldi Forum, numerous events dedicated to the general public or professionals are organised every day. Meet Up, Fans meeting, Fan Zone, signing sessions or conferences such as Behind the Scene allow the general public to meet and exchange with the talents and heroes of their favourite series.
