The Formula 1 Grand Prix
Every year in May, Monaco transforms itself into a racetrack to welcome the mythical Formula 1 Grand Prix. This race, one of the oldest in motorsport, is also one of the most mythical for mechanical enthusiasts.
Winding around the port of Hercules and the districts of Monte-Carlo and La Condamine, the Monegasque urban circuit is one of the most prestigious on an international scale and attracts more than 100,000 enthusiasts each year, i.e. 2.5 times the population of Monaco!
From the grandstands that allow you to watch the Grand Prix or from the high-standing residences around the track, you will have a front row seat to enjoy a breathtaking view of the automobile frenzy that sets the whole country ablaze for a long weekend.
As a corollary to this event that combines glamour and speed, the Historic Grand Prix is held every two years in May for a ballet of vintage cars that parade on the same circuit as the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The Monaco Yacht Show
First boat show in the world, the Monaco Yacht Show celebrates every year in September the end of the summer season on the famous Port Hercule. During 4 days, yachting professionals, boaters and visitors gather for this unmissable event for sea lovers. From the swimming pool square to the Darse, via the Albert 1er, Antoine 1er, des Etats-Unis or Jarlan quays, exhibitors unveil their latest and most beautiful boats. The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters
The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is an unmissable sporting event for tennis fans. Born in 1897, this major tournament of the ATP circuit takes place every year in April and brings together the best tennis players who compete on clay for 10 days.
Held in the splendid Monte-Carlo Country Club, this tennis competition, televised in more than 60 countries, offers a spectacular view of the Mediterranean and the courts thanks to its staircase.
Now 100% men's since 1983, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters brings together the 56 best ATP ranked tennis players in singles and doubles tournaments.
The International Jumping of Monaco
At the foot of the Princely Palace, on the Port Hercule, the Jumping International de Monaco has been marveling for over a decade. Symbolizing exception and excellence through the extreme technicality of the show jumping course and the quality of the equipment, the Jumping International de Monaco promises performances tinged with emotion for both novice and experienced spectators. Renowned as one of the most difficult equestrian circuits in the world, the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco takes place every year over three days in the heart of summer.
Le Bal de la Rose
Created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954, Le Bal de la Rose is the most important social event of the year in Monaco. In March, this enchanting event, which brings together international high society, maintains the aura of Monte-Carlo for an evening in the heart of the Salle des Etoiles du Sporting. In a grandiose setting, all the gotha rush to attend this unique evening where illuminations and sumptuous decorations fascinate the guests.
The International Circus Festival
The International Circus Festival will soon celebrate its jubilee as one of Monaco's must-see events. Created by Prince Rainier III, this annual festival highlights all circus disciplines under the world's most famous big top in the Fontvieille district.
For ten days, jugglers, magicians, clowns and tightrope walkers perform during the day or evening and compete for the ultimate distinction of circus arts, the "Clown d'Or" ("Golden Clown").
The International Television Festival
The Monte-Carlo International Television Festival has been rolling out the red carpet for the world's top TV stars for over 60 years.
At the beginning of the summer, in the sumptuous setting of the Grimaldi Forum, television channels, studios and stars meet to promote their programs to the press, industry professionals and the public.
Under the honorary presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, this event is also a competition that awards the ultimate grail for programs: les Nymphes d'Or (the Golden Nymphs). In addition to the Fiction and News categories, other prestigious prizes are awarded by the jury:
- the Rainier III Special Prize
- the Monegasque Red Cross Prize,
- the International Committee of the Red Cross Prize,
- the Amade prize and the Signis prize.
